NN Running Team partners with Plantix app to create a significant impact on African agriculture
NN Running Team and Plantix are excited to announce a new partnership aimed at creating a positive impact in Africa and raising awareness about the global challenges of food security and climate change.
Founded in 2015, Plantix is a digital app designed to provide fast and easy pest recognition in crops through simple photo analysis. Its goal is to offer farmers worldwide free access to agricultural information and education. By enabling them to quickly and accurately diagnose crop pests and diseases, Plantix helps them make informed decisions that save resources and reduce costs.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, more than 175 million people work in the sector of agriculture and farming is essential to almost everyone living in the region, as the harvest lays the foundation for obtaining food security. Therefore, promoting an innovative app like Plantix in Africa with the support of national heroes such as the NN Running Team can contribute to widespread recognition for Plantix in Africa and tackle challenges in food production.
Over the next four years, Eliud Kipchoge, Augustine Choge, Joshua Cheptegei, and Geoffrey Kamworor will actively test Plantix and share insights from their private farms via social media. This partnership aims to highlight the significance of farming in Africa’s cultural heritage and future.
“For me as a farmer, Plantix is an innovative app that can easily diagnose crop diseases. It can significantly help many farmers in Africa to protect their land. I am very happy that we have teamed up, and I am convinced that Plantix and the people behind it can offer real value,” says Eliud Kipchoge.
“Partnerships are the foundation of our daily doing and are part of our DNA. This partnership is very [EL1] special for us because, together Eliud Kipchoge and the NN Running Team, we can truly make a positive [EL2] impact in Africa and tackle the global challenge of food security,” comments Stephan Schnabel, CEO of HELM AG and majority shareholder of Plantix.
“With Plantix, we want to make farmers lives easier. Therefore, we focus on a progressive approach to solving agricultural, social, and environmental issues by addressing them with cutting-edge technology. With the new partnership, we want to further raise awareness for this topic and grow the farming community in Africa,” adds Simone Strey, CEO of Plantix.
"We are thrilled to welcome Plantix to our expanding sponsorship portfolio. We believe this partnership will bring immense value and innovation directly to our athletes, enhancing our ability to achieve our goals and positively impacting the communities in the African regions that have produced so many world-class athletes," adds Marleen Vink-Rennings, Marketing Director of Global Sports Communication.
