What to watch
We hope you are ready for an incredible weekend of road running!
This Sunday will mark the start of the Abbott World Major Marathon season as we kick off the series with the Tokyo Marathon. Returning to defend his title is Birhanu Legese (ETH) who won his first major last year in 2:04:48. Belgian national record holder Bashir Abdi will be on his side as the men will be looking to race an elite-field only marathon this year in Tokyo. Selly Chepyego (KEN) and Azmera Gebru (ETH) will represent the white and orange in the women’s field!
Kenenisa Bekele will return to competition for the first time since his incredible performance at last year’s BMW Berlin Marathon where he nearly broke the marathon world record. Bekele will run the Vitality Big Half in London this Sunday to test his legs in preparations for the Virgin Money London Marathon later this spring.
